AI as fast food for the mind
Together with FR Media, we’re continuing our series of inspiring stories from tech experts about their journey into AI. Andrii Kucherenko, Chief Software Engineer II at EPAM, shares his thoughts on how AI is transforming education, work, and creativity, while emphasizing the importance of human skills in shaping the future.
“AI can teach the masses, but only humans can nurture the elite”
— My journey into AI began during my student years when I took ML/AI courses. I believe AI will become the “fast food” for the mind — efficient and widely accessible, powering mass education at scale. But true depth, critical thinking, and leadership will still come from human-based education.
To shape the next generation of innovators, creators, and ethical leaders, we need to invest in education led by skilled human mentors. AI can teach the masses, but only humans can nurture the elite.
“Catch emerging trends and ideas”
— For anyone looking to deepen their knowledge of AI, I recommend starting with the GitHub Trending page to explore popular AI projects and see what the community is building.
The official documentation from Anthropic and OpenAI is essential for understanding how to use their models effectively. Hugging Face is a goldmine of open models, datasets, and tools, and OpenRouter offers an excellent unified interface for experimenting with multiple models.
Finally, stay updated by following key AI researchers and labs on Twitter (X). It’s one of the fastest ways to catch emerging trends and ideas.
“Pomodoro technique and coffee keep me productive”
— A cup of morning coffee sets the tone for my day, and I rely on the Pomodoro technique to stay focused and avoid burnout. Breaking work into short, timed sprints with breaks helps me stay productive and creative — especially when diving into complex AI topics.
